Guitarist Anthony Roina discusses what the album release means to him

Full Album Release - September 27, 2021 – Full Spectrum – Dogz Of Zeus
This was a hard one. So many things transpired during the time it took to make this record. Band members moving out of state. Deaths in the families, divorces, members battling demons, organ transplants and everything in between including COVID. After the release of the album “Stone Gospel” back in 2015, I asked myself how would I ever top it. My playing was in peak form and the band was a well oiled machine. I was pretty much given the creative reins and kept on recording demos of ideas. I wanted us to push the envelope on this one. AND WE DID. I did not follow any rules. We had personal friends on the album (King Bee-Saxophone on “Best Friend”,) (Peter Levin-Hammond Solo on “Shadow Demon,”) (Jennifer Hammerstein – Bkg Vocals on “Holy Day.”) I was inventing different recording ideas with our producer Jamey Staub. We went back and forth for weeks on end with some of the material. The creative input from the members of this group is beyond stellar. The lyrics are so relevant and important.
IT SEEMED AS IF IT WOULD NEVER END, UNTIL NOW.
It took several years and finally it has been released on Perimeter Records, Inc. So have a listen and enjoy. I will be posting each song with recording data and guitar tone info and a few words between members in the near future. Thank you for your support.

"IT'S GETTING REAL" VIDEO WITH LYRICS
August 18, 2021
In response to the recent withdrawl of our troops from Afghanistan, The Dogz have decided to release a video that is inspired by the dedication and sacrifice of the men and women who defend our freedom and fight the War on Terror. We thank you for your service.

Here is what some of the observers had to say about the show.
JS Docrock writes, "Had the pleasure of seeing Dogs of Zeus rock the house at Connollys. Best version of the band I’ve seen. Tyler Land brings the thunder on drums and Anthony Roina makes the lightning strike on guitar with a fresh approach influenced by Kirk, Slash, Jimmy, and Jimi…" Jim Roland states, "Dustin was on point and Vlad the new singer fits right in. He's got a great voice and powerful stage presence! The entire band sounded great." Rita wrote, "The show was incredible! The ambience, the music, the energy! Dogs of Zeus killed it no doubt. I wish there were more shows like this." and Alex wrote, "DOZ is a rock band playing hard core heavy metal. Really enjoyed their live performances at the Connoly's last evening. The rich gamma of sounds array perfectly enriched by Vlad's singing brought me back to my college times, the days when the air was loaded with Black Sabbath, Accept, Queensrÿche, etc. This was their great performance!!!"
DOGZ OF ZEUS - NEW ALBUM!
DOGZ OF ZEUS SET TO DROP NEW ALBUM, FULL SPECTRUM, THEIR BEST ALBUM YET
LIVE SHOW AT CONNOLLY'S, NYC ON JULY 31, 2021, ALBUM RELEASE PARTY IN SEPTEMBER, 2021
New York, NY (July 21, 2021) - New York City’s own hard rock band, Dogz Of Zeus, will release their third and final album in September of 2021. Titled Full Spectrum, the album brings together a powerful array of musical styles, blending metal, classic and southern rock, ultimately resulting in 100% pure rock-n-roll. Nine years after releasing their self-titled debut album, band members Anthony Roina (Guitars, Mandolin, Piano, Hammond), Eddie Shiffler (Lyrics and Vocals), Tyler Land (Drums), and Dustin Smith (Bass) came together, along with featured guest artists sax player King Bee (“Best Friend”) and keyboard/organ master Pete Levin (“Living Shadow”) to create this sonic masterpiece. Full Spectrum was produced by award winning producer/engineer, Jamey Staub (Beastie Boys, Pete Rock, Nas, Everlast), who was instrumental in the arrangements, and contributed orchestration, keyboards, percussion and background vocals. As lead singer Eddie Shiffler says of Full Spectrum, “It is our love letter to rock and roll”.
DOZ came together to lay down basic tracks of the album at LoTor Mountain Studio in New York, and then suddenly, as with many artists, they were torn apart by the Covid pandemic. The band was not deterred and worked from various studios to finish Full Spectrum using today’s covid-world tech environment. Vocal and guitar overdubs were tracked by Anthony and Eddie in their own private studios (with production cues from Staub) and the album was mixed by Jamey at his own Stairway Studio in New York. The album boasts ten tracks, including guitar player Roina’s heavy guitar riff-driven “It’s Getting Real,” the solar-trip inspired brain rocker “Trail Into the Sun,” and the head-banging conspiracy of “CIA”. Making Full Spectrum was quite a different experience for the band as indicated in the following quotes.
Anthony says
“As the album title suggests, Full Spectrum was for me a very deep soul-searching experience musically and emotionally, that directly attributed to what I feel is the most versatile album I've ever documented.”Tyler writes “We suddenly realized we had giant armadillos in our trousers!” and more seriously “For this record, we approached the songs differently than in the past. We weren’t concerning ourselves with staying in a category or style. Most of the songs ended up very different from each other which was a pleasant surprise.”
Dustin thinks “ The same pummeling riffs you’ve come to expect from DOZ, but with some added groove and eclectic flavors thrown into the mix.”
Eddie sums it up with “ This album was years in the making. Anthony was in an inspired state while writing it. It is our love letter to Rock and Roll. On it we pay tribute to some of our biggest influences and show the true versatility and diversity Dogz Of Zeus possesses. We are very excited to share it with the world.”
Dogz of Zeus are back in action on July 31, 2021 at Connolly’s Klub 45 in Manhattan to celebrate the reopening of clubs in NYC as well as other clubs they have performed in; such as the Hard Rock Cafe in Philadelphia and Atlantic City. Having shared the stage with legendary musicians, Joe Lynn Turner (Deep Purple, Rainbow, Yngwie,) Bobby Rondinelli (Black Sabbath, Quiet Riot,) Alex Skolnick (Testament, Trans-Siberian Orchestra,) Rex Brown (Pantera) and Steve Augeri (Journey,) DOZ will be ushering in a new lead singer Vladimir, a vocalist born in Moscow, Russia, whose voice brings a new energy to the band. He is a veteran rocker who has played bass and sang in industrial and metal bands in Europe and the United States. DOZ will be performing a hard rock set, drawing from their self-titled debut album “Dogz Of Zeus,” sophomore album “Stone Gospel”, and upcoming full length, “Full Spectrum.”
